PCN Upgrade of ESP32-C2 (ESP8684) Series Products
Regarding the PCN upgrade of the ESP32-C2 (ESP8684) series products, please refer to the following updates.
Taking product performance and market demand into consideration, Espressif has upgraded the ESP32-C2 (ESP8684) series, including chips, modules and development boards.
Upgrade content:
Chip version upgraded from v1.2 to v2.0 – increased available SRAM and flash space
Added in-package Flash (ESP8684H4 and ESP8684H4X) – improved supply stability
Since the v2.0 version is incompatible with the previous version in software, the PN suffix of the updated product is added with “-X” for easy distinction.
‼ ️ Please pay special attention that due to the limited raw material inventory of the old version of the product, it will be discontinued after the inventory is exhausted (the time is expected to be about 3 months). In order to ensure the smooth delivery of future orders, please complete the software upgrade as soon as possible and confirm the changed product.
For existing customers: To ensure compatibility, please upgrade ESP-IDF to the required version or higher (for specific version information, please refer to the table on page 5 of the PCN: “Required ESP-IDF version for ESP32-C2 v2.0”).
