ESP32-C61
The aforementioned Wi-Fi 6 support is optimized for IoT devices, and the new SoC supports 20 MHz bandwidth for 802.11ax mode and 20/40 MHz bandwidth for 802.11b/g/n mode. OFDMA, MU-MIMO, providing reliable and low-latency connectivity, along with Target-Wake-Time (TWT), the foundation for ultra-low power applications. Additionally, the Bluetooth 5 (LE) radio supports long-range operation via advertisement extensions and encrypted PHYs, and supports 2 Mbps high-throughput PHYs. The ESP32-C61 will also support the BLE-Mesh 1.1 protocol.

System and Memory
On the CPU side, the ESP32-C61 features a single-core 32-bit RISC-V microcontroller that can reach up to 160 MHz, has 320KB on-chip SRAM, 256KB ROM, and operates with Quad SPI flash. Notably, the SoC introduces support for PSRAM with Quad SPI up to 120 MHz, thus allowing developers to focus on application development without worrying about memory optimization.)
Security
In line with Espressif’s philosophy, the ESP32-C61 places a strong emphasis on security at an affordable price, incorporating features such as secure boot, flash and PSRAM encryption, and cryptographic accelerators. The addition of a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), using the Access Rights Management (APM) and Physical Memory Protection (PMP) hardware blocks, provides flexibility in application security management.
Optimized Peripherals
The ESP32-C61 includes standard microcontroller peripherals, such as I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, LED-PWM, ADC, Timer, and DMA. Specialized peripherals include an Event Task Matrix for automation-triggered tasks and a Zero-crossing comparator for easy zero-crossing detection.
The ESP32-C61 will be supported through Espressif’s Complete IoT Development Framework (ESP-IDF), so our customers can benefit from the familiarity of our field-proven platform, which already supports millions of connected devices. The ESP-Matter-SDK will also include support for creating Matter-enabled products with the ESP32-C61. With the availability of PSRAM, the ease of development and the range of applications that can be supported on this unique product is unparalleled. For customers who want to use the ESP32-C61 as a coprocessor to communicate with an external host, the ESP-Hosted and ESP-AT firmware will also be available.
